The New Wine Discipleship Year in Sheffield is based in Wadsley, although we’ll regularly be on tour to the other churches involved in the area. Sheffield is an amazing place to live, there’s loads going on here and we’re surrounded by some of the best countryside the UK has to offer! God is doing exciting things in the Sheffield and our heart is that this year will equip and release you into taking part in the life of the DY churches here. Teaching (8hrs/wk)
All teaching is delivered weekly on a Tuesday.
Ministry opportunities
There are a number of ministry opportunities across the various placement churches: Children & Youth; Family Outreach; Schools work; Mission and Evangelism; Pastoral; Worship; Church Planting; Working with vulnerable and trafficked women.
Cost
£1000 course fees, payable at the beginning of the course. Bursaries may be available if you are based with an Anglican church.
Accommodation
This varies across the different placement churches but may involve accommodation with church staff or church families, a shared house with other DY Interns or if you prefer, you can rent your own accommodation in the area near to your placement church. Where possible, interns are encouraged to also take a part-time job to help cover their living expenses.
