CRBC Children and Families Ministry

Colchester Road Baptist Church (CRBC) is an inclusive family church where the needs of families and children are an integral and important part of our ministry. Our mission statement as a church is that everything we do should be a gateway or a pathway to bringing people to know Christ and to helping them grow in their faith. Regular visits to parents and work in schools are key areas, seeking to form meaningful relationships to build on to reach out and show Jesus’ love in our community   

In line with this vision our children’s ministry aims to disciple children in the church aged 11 and under, and runs alongside our Youth Ministry. Children’s ministry is predominantly through a programme of church-based activities, some of which have children attending who would otherwise have no contact with CRBC. We encourage our young people to get involved with helping to lead some of the activities for children.

In addition to our groups for children on Sundays we ran a popular mid-week parent & toddler group, which aims to build links with young families and to introduce them to Jesus. We also had a weekly club for children aged 7 to 11, where we enjoy games and activities and where we explore the Bible together.

Team based ministry is central to CRBC’s vision and plan and an essential part of this role is leading, working with and supporting a large team of children’s ministry volunteers. We value them immensely, consider them part of the team, and see them as key to the development of the vision and plan. 

There is an occupational requirement for this role to be held by a practicing Christian, who accepts our statement of faith.
