Description of Job

Join the brilliant Waverley Abbey team!

Are you an experienced fundraiser with a track record of securing and managing large grants, putting on events and networking potential individual partners and supporters?

Do you enjoy finding creative and proactive ways to build relationships with new and existing funders? We’re looking to recruit a skilled and strategic Fundraising and Partnerships Manager who is passionate about weaving stories and stats together in a way that inspires funders to support Waverley Abbey Trust. You’ll be someone who loves building genuine relationships with partners and funders, can seek out new opportunities, manage numerous relationships to a high standard, and write compelling grant applications. In this role, you’ll bring experience in Trusts and Foundations fundraising, as well as networking individual supporters and mid-net worth individual relationships. Experience in fundraising events would also be desirable.

You’ll have effective and excellent written and verbal communication skills that will make our funders feel truly connected to our organisation. This role would suit someone with previous experience of working with grant makers, and we’d also be open to hearing from people with transferable skills. This role can be either based in our offices at Waverley or a hybrid role. This role may require occasional travel supporting wider located fundraising events.

Employer

Waverley Abbey Trust

Farnham, England, United Kingdom

Waverley Abbey has a remarkable history as a site of Christian prayer and worship for over 1,300 years. The land was dedicated in 688AD as a place of prayer and witness. In 1128AD it’s where the first Cistercian monastery in Britain was built, whose ruins can still be seen today. And in recent memory, the work of Selwyn Hughes and CWR has a legacy we’re continuing today.

In 2023, we are at a critical moment in world history; a moment of profound spiritual, economic and social upheaval in the UK and across the world. Our response is to establish, in partnership with 24-7 Prayer, a radical new centre of prayer, learning, commerce and connection.
