St Thomas’ Lancaster (‘St Tees’) is a dynamic evangelical charismatic Anglican church situated in the heart of Lancaster. The church is committed to sharing God’s love across all ages and backgrounds, with a vibrant, multigenerational congregation that includes around 150 children each week. St Tees is known for its friendly, informal, and Spirit-led worship, strong Bible teaching, and active engagement with the wider community. As the church continues to grow and pursue its vision, it seeks a Children and Families Lead to take this vital ministry forward, building on strong foundations and a clear vision for the future.
The Children and Families ministry at St Thomas’ Lancaster is driven by a clear vision: to welcome, disciple and support children and their families as they grow in faith and connection to the church community. This vision is rooted in the church’s wider mission to share God’s love across all ages and backgrounds.
The Children and Families Lead will hold, communicate and implement the vision for Children’s and Families’ Ministry within the wider church vision. The postholder will ensure that children and their families are welcomed, discipled and supported as they grow in their faith and connection to the church community. The role is strategic and hands-on, requiring both leadership and pastoral gifts, and is central to the life and witness of St Thomas’ Lancaster. The Lead will be responsible for developing a culture of belonging, spiritual growth and mission among the children, equipping both them and volunteers for effective ministry.
We take care of our employees. Some examples of this are:
- 6 weeks of paid holiday, including six Sundays
- Two further weeks of paid personal retreat and conference leave
- Centre-based working with the opportunity for some home-based working by agreement
