Families Pastor

Our hope is to build a community that supports parents and carers, as well as to create an environment of huge fun where children and young people can make friends, flourish in their relationship with Jesus, and learn to share His love with those around them. This is an exciting moment for family life at KXC. Our kids, youth and student work are all experiencing growth, and there are so many opportunities for us as a church to engage with the local community through Little Haven (our kids and toddlers group), Growing Hope (a charity supporting children with additional needs) and various other activities in and around King’s House. We are committed to becoming a multigenerational church that follows the way of Jesus together, and see this as a key role in providing leadership for the outworking of this vision.

Job Description:

• Vision and Culture of Families Ministry at KXC: Forming, communicating and cultivating a vision of Families Ministry at KXC, from which pastors and those serving within different volunteer teams can serve those younger members of our congregation, and in the local community.
• Leadership of the Families Ministry Stream: Line managing and developing those pastors and team members within the Families Ministry Stream, and working with them in collaboration to best serve the kids, youth, parents, families and students at KXC.
• Youth Work: KXC is a Resource Church in the Diocese of London and a key element of that has been leading First Fridays, a monthly event for youth from local churches. We are keen to continue to develop youth ministry and pioneer and develop this area of ministry.
• Collaboration and Networking with other Churches and Ministries: Connecting with and learning from other churches and ministries with an aligned vision to see young people encounter Jesus, and share the love of God with those around them. Acting as an enabler for others in the Families Ministries team to connect with others across a variety of networks.
• Stream Leads Speaking into the wider oversight of pastoral and operational leadership of KXC through regular Stream Leads.
• Additional Support as Required: Participating in the life of the Staff Team. Playing an active role within the wider staff team, including participating in staff meetings, days away and staff retreats. Staff are also asked to provide occasional support in managing other KXC events where required.
