The Purpose of the Role
This is an incredible opportunity for an energetic Kids/ Youth Pastor who is excited by the idea of reaching children and young people with the good news of Jesus and the adventure of following him.
We believe that children and young people’s engagement with church should be fun, safe and a great way to make friends, whilst encountering God. We are expectant that they will encounter the Holy Spirit, grow into a likeness of Jesus and impact those around them. As such our church vision to Know God, Find Freedom, Discover Purpose and Make a Difference applies just as much to the rising generations as to adults. Raising up and training volunteer leaders with this ethos is an important part of the role. There will also be opportunity to support parents and guardians as they navigate parenting with or without faith and to connect with the local schools.
You will be a key part of the launch team in creating a Resource Church in the HTB Network.
This job is Fixed Term – 4 years (with possibility to extend)
37 hours per week (PT could be considered for the right candidate)
£22-28k commensurate with experience

St Swithun's Church (STS)
After 4 awesome years working at St Matts HTB Resource Church in Plymouth, Reuben and Portia Crossley have landed in North Nottinghamshire to revitalise St Swithuns, Retford, as part of the HTB Network.
Adults and children are gathering to join our vision to see every person in Retford and the surrounding area Know God, Find Freedom, Discover Purpose and Make a Difference. Our focus is on growing a contemporary, Spirit-filled church, seeking to practice the Way of Jesus as we love the surrounding area.
As a Resource Church we will be forging leadership pathways for training, innovation and church planting that inspire, empower and release the next generation.
Retford is an historic market town with a pretty river and canal, minutes from the A1 near Sherwood Forest. It has easy links to Nottingham, Sheffield, Lincoln and is on an express train line which means you can be in York in 40 mins and London in only 90 mins. These great transport links and low house prices are some of the reasons for the booming commuter population in Retford and the surrounding villages.
